Hansa Luftbild and their Italian partner company Aerosistemi S.r.l. are supporting the Sicilian civil protection authority in the re-organisation and standardisation of her geodata basis.
Main target of this project is the creation of digital terrain models and additionally digital orthophotos of a small number of prototype regions in Sicily. This new data basis will be extended by existing topographic and geologic maps. Hansa Luftbild relocated some of her planes to support airborne remote sensing activities while Aerosistemi is responsible for data processing and topographic services.
Both companies are engaged with their joint venture named HANSAER G.E.I.E., an European Economic Interest Grouping that combines the know how and equipment of both partners.
