Since 1973 the award has customarily been presented at the annual scientific and technical conference held by the German Society for Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Geoinformation. This year the conference was held at HafenCity University Hamburg and took place from 26 March to 28 March, 2014.
This year’s prize winner is Dr Richard Steffen. He received the 1,500 euro endowed prize for his research paper „A robust iterative kalman filter based on implicit measurement equations“ published in the journal "Photogrammetrie - Fernerkundung - Geoinformation" (PFG, 4/2013). The award was presented by Dr Paul Hartfiel, CEO of Hansa Luftbild AG, during the 28 March plenary session.
